Summary: A Collector's Item - Not A Toy 2010-07-26
Comment: I'm amazed at all the reviews that complain about the size and durability of this limited edition Coraline doll from Comic Con. These are not really meant to be toys for children.
It is a beautiful doll and, kept unopened, will probably become very valuable in the future, much like the Nightmare Before Christmas dolls did.
Summary: Not quite what I expected...hard to pose. 2010-06-28
Comment: This isn't quite what I expected. I bought it as a gift for my girlfriend's birthday. She's a fan of Henry Selick's animated movies, as am I, so she loves Coraline, James and the Giant Peach and the Nightmare Before Christmas. I read in some other reviews that this wasn't a very big doll, so I was expecting that and it's not quite as small as I was expecting (she stands around 7" tall). What I wasn't expecting was that it was basically a bendy doll (the body is rubber with wire inside serving as a "skeleton" of sorts) and that her hair was basically just plastic. My girlfriend still loves it, especially the "little clothes," but it's very hard to pose standing on account that the head of the doll weighs just about as much as the rest of it (it's doable, but it doesn't take much to send Coraline crashing down). It also doesn't come with a stand like some of the other "bendy" dolls seem to, so that makes displaying it a bit of a chore. Overall, I'm still glad I got it, because she still likes it and it definitely looks like Coraline.

Comment: Me and my Boyfriend have been fans of the Coraline Movie ever since it came out and when his birthday came i wanted to get him something special that he didnt already have so when i saw the coraline dolls online i had to get one. When i got it i was aware of the size it was gonna be before i bought it and when it came i was pleasently suprise. It isnt too small it can be compare to an average size barbie doll but it being a little taller wouldnt have hurt, but despite it size it makes up for that with it beautiful detail making it a very accurate replica of the same figures they used to make the movie. her star sweater is very appealing and has a cute vintageness to it and i love her boots too and the hair is also the same molded structure with her dragonfly barrette with the face its also very nicely crafted however her mouth position i really didnt care for would have been nicer if she smiled also the face can come off where you can position her eyes anyway. The doll is very fragile and really isnt meant to be played with it but more as a nice desk or shelf accessory her arms legs are strechable where u position her in anyway. Its a great gift to give to anyone whos a fan of the movie or book and it defitnetly makes you feel like a proud fan to own this awesome story merchandise.
Summary: Accurate Product 2010-03-31
Comment: I'm a huge fan of Coraline so I have high expectations for this doll. When I received it, it came in secure packaging, box and stuffing. The product itself is very accurate to the Coraline doll being used in the motion stop movie, where 6 inch clay dolls are used to create a story, such as bending the dolls arms and legs. The stitching on the clothes are top quality and the face on Coraline is very cute and has lots of detail to show emotion and character =). The hands and shoes can come off so I wouldn't recommend this to any children below 5 years old. The clothes can also come off. I think the only draw back to this doll is that the hair is a little see through and isn't a color I would choose for Coraline. The face of the doll also doesn't come out either, but I forced mines out revealing an empty head with two eye sockets (like the dolls used in the movie!).

Comment: this doll is adorable to look at but falls apart easily! my 6 year old daughter fell in love with this doll & had to have it for christmas, but it broke almost immediately with very little play, she was careful with it, but it just seems to fall apart! now she is begging me for a new one, but it is just not worth it! unless you are a collector who wishes only to display this, do NOT buy! it is poor quality construction!
