This is the fourth time Kotobukiya has produced a Darth Vader statue in the ArtFX line (five if you count the smaller ArtFX+ version). At some point you have to wonder if there's any point when there are still so many worthwhile characters Koto has yet to tackle at all. To be fair, this statue does make some improvements over the previous versions, but it has a couple flaws holding it back from greatness.
The previous Vader statues have been based on Episodes III and V, whereas this one is meant to depict the final battle in Episode VI. That's where the light-up feature comes in. The lightsaber and belt panels light up, but also one of the helmets glows to simulate Vader being electrocuted by the Emperor. The glow effect works well, although it's a bit of a hassle to activate. The switch is located underneath the head, forcing you to remove and replace it every time. This review is from: Kotobukiya Star Wars: Darth Vader "Final Battle" ArtFX Statue (Toy)
I ordered this darth vader statue after being very very pleased with the ironman statue i got last year by kotobukiya. Let me just say, this does NOT hold a candle to the quality of the ironman figure. DO NOT BUY. Wrong colors, poor fittings, crappy lights, strange pose, very very cheaply made. Not worth the 100 bucks they charged me. Only saving grace was amazon's willingness to refund my money.
