On April 2nd, I bought about half of the figures avalible, Darth Vader included.
One thing that Hasbro has improved on in the action features. They have improved ten fold from when they were first introduced in 2002 with Attack of the Clones. What is different? Well, they actually work for starters! Now granted, there are a few bad apples in the bunch (like Chewbacca's rediculous looking "wookiee rage") but all in all, they are all improved. This Vader is no exception. His lightsaber attack actually looks like a lightsaber attack, adding to the play value for kids and collectors who still play with their toys (I am one of those man-childs myself). There is one...slight...problem with this figure though. His inability to stand up and stay up, which makes it hard if you want to pose the Dark Lord of the Sith on a shelf for all to see. It takes a lot of trail and error to get him...Read more 8 of 12 people found the following review helpful: By = Durability: This review is from: Star Wars E3 Revenge of the Sith Action Figure #11 Darth Vader (Lightsaber Attack) (Toy) Darth Vader. Is there any villian in movie history who is as cool as this guy? (Sauron maybe?). Making his triumphant...uh...debut in Star wars Episode III, Darth vader becomes imortilized in plastic (again).
It's a little strange writting this review. After the excellent line of Lord of the rings figures, it's a little hard reviewing these new Star wars figures. Because for one thing, they're...uh...small. Really small. The dark lord of the sith barely reaches the hieght of Gimli the dwarf! It's kind of sad in a way. After Toybiz set the standard for excellent movie based action figures, Hasbro's star wars seem a little old-fashioned. Not that there's really anything wrong with that. Even though this mini-vader is tiny (just a little over 4 inches to be exact), he's still pretty impressive. The details on his body are impressive. There are wrinkles in his black pants, there are buttons on his chest plate and belt control panels, and the famous...Read more 2 of 3 people found the following review helpful: By Shadow spartan "John Lee" (San Ramon CA) - See all my reviews = Durability: This review is from: Star Wars E3 Revenge of the Sith Action Figure #11 Darth Vader (Lightsaber Attack) (Toy) There have been many great Vader figures in the past, this Vader is good but it's not much compared to it's predecessors. This guy is overrated due to it's rarity since fans love Darth vader. It's not as good as you might have expected. First of all it lacks articulation all you can move are his arm, legs and head. This vader is basically already preposed, since you can't clench in one of his hands and you have to move one of the legs back for it to stand.Other than these problems this figure has a nice sculpt, an okay feature and a very nice cape. These figures are very popular so grab one when you get the chance, but it's not worth paying more than $10 for it. |
