I'll start off by saying this is a sweet addition for any transformer fan of all ages.Rodimus looks just like he did in G1 days perfect all around as does Cyclonus as well.Rodimus has a tailpipe that becomes his trusty photon blaster with firing projectile that attaches in vechicle mode as well so you can always keep it by his side. The detail is outstanding and he is very poseable for acting out any battle scene with Cyclonus you can think of.The durability is an A+ for wnen he needs to mix it up as well.Cyclonus is outstanding in all phases and comes with his trusted mini-con partner nightstick which turns into a laser cannon to give Cyclonus some added firepower in robot or his hypersonic fighter mode.Nightstick attaches to the top of cyclonus in vehicle mode so they can always be kept together easily. The added piece though is the autobot matrix of leadership which if you have ever seen the original movie from 1986 this plays a key role in the story line between the two.Cyclonus is...Read more

As far as Transformers toys go, this set is fantastic for not only the slight nostalgia it brings, but for the price as well. I Paid just under twenty dollars and it was well worth every penny. I baught this for my oldest son of 5 years, (he loves transformers) and he knows all about the old 80's "Transformers The Movie", so to be able to get those toys today is great for the next gen fans. Even if your just a collector, this Item is a great piece to add to the collection. As far as the actual toys quality... It's pretty good. The packaging is brilliant, and the characters look quite authentic compairing to the old t.v. series and movie. Their made of a sturdy feeling palstic and seem quite capable of handling the abuses of a small boy...
--FOR THE DIE-HARD COLLECTOR-- One very small issue with the construction: The details of the seams and transitions of colors for the characters paint jobs(especially Hot Rods face on mine particularly) are just a bit patchy and have a...Read more

I was excited to get Hot Rod for my kid. Cyclonus, eh, not so much but why not? Well, turns out Cyclonus ended up being the better toy... mostly. He looks great in robot mode, but in plane mode, he's rather floppy and I was left wondering if there was anything I forgot to do with his legs.
On the other hand, Hot Rod was the biggest disappointment. I've accepted the ball joint implementation on all of the new Transformers, but his is the worst. His arm keeps falling off every time I move it. Also, the weak plastic hinge on his chest broke not even a week after light play. He can still be used in car mode and we came up with a cool alt mode to make up for it (bring the rear wing upward so it sits on the roof as if it will make the car fly) and my 4 year old is happy with that.
