The back pack is quite large, and is recommended for kids in Kindergarden or higher. The backpack has a picture of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee in their live action Transformers the Movie form and Optimus Prime has a few red LED lights on his chest that light up when the backpack is in motion. The backpack seems pretty durable and should last a few years with moderate use. He loves the transformers, it lights up. He is still into all of that, and he doesnt need a heavy duty back pack yet b/c he is not bringing home any books etc. So for the money, and his needs its great!
