Faragut NCC-60597 Furuta Star Trek Federation Ships & Alien Ships Collection 2 Miniature Display Model (Toy) I collect small space ships - especially Star Trek ships, and I've always wanted a Nebula-class but I am not well-off enough to justify shelling out [...] for a set of micromachines that has one (sight unseen, no less). So I've just had to live with not having a Nebula-class. Until now, that is. This is not a perfect model, but it's okay. The lifeboat hatches aren't there, which is to say they are holes in the model instead of bumps, and several of the window indents on the underside of the saucer are jutting out of the hull. and while the phaser arrays on the saucer are sticking out a tad too far, the array on the underside of the secondary hull is actually inverted, curving in. Its the damndest thing, really. It is reminiscent of a Galaxy-class model I got when I was a kid that had all of its windows jutting out as little lines and its lifeboats as just square outlines on the hull and It's indented windows on the underside as just outlines. I'm guessing the manufacturers in both...Read more = Durability: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: U.S.S. Faragut NCC-60597 Furuta Star Trek Federation Ships & Alien Ships Collection 2 Miniature Display Model (Toy) Watching ST:TNG as a kid, I fell in love with the Nebula-class starship design. The obvious evolution of the Ent-D and Miranda-class (Khan's ship in WoK), the styling was so sleek and elegant, and the customizable sensor pod on top hits high notes with the Swiss army knife loving crowd. As Patrick Stewart said on seeing the model for the first time "Look what you did there!" I built a lot of the ATM/ertl models in the 80's and 90's, and scoured for these and other background ships at conventions. So very glad to put this on my work desk. The details are good, the fit is fine, just wish furuta had made Steamrunners, Sabres, Akiras, and some of the kitbashes from DS9 and TNG: Best of Both Worlds. 0 of 1 people found the following review helpful: By HM Trekkie (Orlando, FL) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: U.S.S. Faragut NCC-60597 Furuta Star Trek Federation Ships & Alien Ships Collection 2 Miniature Display Model (Toy) Furuta makes the best models of this size. The Faragut is my latest. I have The Enterprise original, a, b, and c, d future (3 nacelles), Pasteur (great combo by the way) Voyager, Defiant , Jem Hadar and Rio Grande from Furuta through micronation and they are all great models. I say that because of the detail. Other manufacturers models, even larger, have less detail, and some furuta models are better than others, But for the price and the size no one make a better model. I say that as a collector with 36 models from different manufacturers. Micronation consistently gets the models to me in about 2 weeks certified direct from Hong Kong. The Faragut is just as good as the rest. |
